INACCESIBLE_BOOT_Device after reboot

Hello,
I created a windows 10 system using WinToUSB on a 500GB seagate drive for use on iMac macOS Sierra. It worked fine.  I was even able to install the boot camp drivers and get connectivity, etc. and use windows on the Mac. However, after rebooting I get the dreaded inaccessible_boot_device blue screen! I'm pretty sure I can reboot before the boot camp drivers are installed - it's after installing the boot camp drivers when the trouble starts. I've repeated the complete procedure one more time and got the same result (works once then won't boot). I've also tried some of the windows recovery tools that seem to be available with every other boot, but to no avail. I'm wonder if anyone has had this problem. Any help would be appreciated. Here's the procedure that I followed: Initialize the disk to GPT format; Create a system partition - FAT32, 200MB; Create a windows partition - NTFS for remaining space; install windows using WinToUSB; boot up on Mac and install boot camp drivers. Thanks!

External USB Install Question

Does the external USB drive have to be completely empty and formatted in order to install Windows 10 on it?

I have a 4TB external USB drive with lot of music files on it. I intend to create a small partition on this drive and install Win 10 on that. Let me know how to do that. I can clone or use an iso for install. Thanks.

I am posting here because there is no general forum. Everytime today 12-31-2017 I visit your website and click on certain links like to the EasyUefi product page, holiday special, or contact us. My anti virus software blocks a Jscoinminer download and I am unable to access the webpage. Note this does not happen on all your webpages. I did not happen yeasterday. Since contact is "infected" I was unable to contact you that way. This was tested from two different computer. It appears that your website may have been hacked.

System Clone was not succesfull

Hello there

I need a system clone, cause i`ve had a very bad lost of all my dates, which where on a ssd. So now, i installed everything again, it works, but i really want a "safe copy" from my os, so that i would be able to work, if this happens again.

In the last time i cloned my os with a great tool on an intern HD. This intern HD now is only for the Dates. So i cloned my os on an extern USb-HD. But anytime, i want to boot, i got a blue screen: "Inaccessible BootDevice".

So now, someone told me, that no Windows can boot from an USB Device!

In January 2018 i got the version "WinToUSB" as Full Version and i want to clone on a USB-Flash-Drive (128GB). It cloned for 2 hours, but at the end theres was an error: "The system cannot write ti the specified Device" System Clone was not successfull.

The whole Files and directories are written on the stick, but i cannot boot from it.

What can i do?

I`ve just took a look in the Wintousb.ini:
there is "NTFSFormat=2" !!

Using Windows 10 Pro on a portable drive.

Any other USB drive gets marked in Disk Management as Offline with "The disk is offline because of policy set by an administrator." I can't online it. Tried in diskpart also, it cannot be onlined.

I managed to get the internal HDD online per the other thread about accessing the internal HDD. But I really don't care about the internal drive; I need to access another external USB drive. How do I make this work?

Can WintoUsb be Used Like Easy2Boot

$

I have a Sandisk Extreme Pro 120gb Usb Flash Drive.
On this I have Installed Easy2Boot.
in One Folder I have Several Windows ISO's.
This Works Well.
So my question is , can WintoUsb be set up in a similar fashion.
For the purpose of not only using it as a Portable Fully Functional Windows O/S But Also to Install an O/S on an Internal HDD.
I Tested it But it wouldn't work.
What I did was, Extracted the Windows 10 ISO to a Folder then Executed Setup.exe.
It Started to work, then gave this Notice ( Windows cannot be installed on a usb drive ) or words to that effect.
It did not give the option to select which drive to install on.
Now I emailed wintousb tech support with the same question and they told me it couldn't be done.
But I can't see Why Not.
Does anyone know of any Hacks that might get this to work.
I would like to hear from anyone that has experimented with this procedure.

From where is the bootloader?

Where comes the Bootloader comes from and under what license is it?

WinToUSB writes an Bootloader to the USB-stick which for example loads the VHD or VHDX. And the legacy option creates an bootloader, too.

Is this bootloader © Microsoft, © Hasleo Software or © of anybody other?
And under what license is the Bootloader?

Trying to use the free version in order to make a Windows USB, getting the following error:
The free/trial version does not support Windows / Server systems.

I've downloaded the image with the Windows 10 Media Creation tool, so it should be a regular desktop version.

No Bootable Device

Dear Hasleo Team and Fellow WinToUSB Users,

I have got a rather strange problem:

I successfully installed Windows 8.1 Pro onto a Samsung Fit 128GB USB. I intend to use this as a bootable on the go Windows drive.
I installed all necessary drivers with BootCamp and got to run Windows 8.1 on my MacBook Pro 13" Late 2013 (retina).

Now to the problem: Everytime I shut down the MacBook Pro and try to boot (MBR) from the Samsung fit again I get the "no bootable device - insert boot disk and press any key" message right at the startup.
BUT! when I then try to boot from the same USB drive on my iMac 27" Late 2012 (FusionDrive) I can successfully boot Windows. After shutting down from my iMac, going back to my MacBook I can boot as well on my MacBook Pro. But when I shut down on my MacBook and try to reboot I am again prompted with the "no bootable device" message. WTF?!

I am pretty clueless about what to do next. I tried reinstalling Windows 8.1 and got the same result.

Just to sum up my problem:

Boot from USB on MacBook Pro --> no bootable device

Boot from USB on iMac --> Windows boot perfectly

Boot from USB on MacBook right after iMac boot --> Windows boot perfectly

Boot from USB on MacBook again after shutting down --> no bootable device

I do not want to EFI boot (cause that doesn't work unless you shut down system integrity)
The Windows Installation does completely work on said MacBook

I am very very thankful for every advice you can give me!

Error 0x0057000900290000 WintoUSB

Hi!
I've trying to clone a Win10 (1709, 16299.248) system on a surface book to a USB drive. I've tried both, USB flash drive (Corsair Hyperx Savage 512 GB) or Samsung T3 1TB external USB SSD.
Using the USB flash drive, WintoUSB was able to build the partitions itself, with the external hdd if just followed the descriptions as given in the manual: system partition fat32 e.g. 100 MB, boot partition NTFS to boot into UEFI system.
Starting the win os (current) to usb, alls works fine, the drive and partitions are recognized by wintousb, legacy method selected (btw what is the advantage of VHD mode?), then confirmed that all data will be lost on that drive and process started. first time, the winpe files are installed, in subsequent approaches already present. Then a reboot is requested from wintousb. works fine, boots into the wintousb software and starts to clone.
Then after a few seconds, an error messages pops up "nicht unterstütztes dateisytem" not supported file system error 0x0057000900290000 and wintousb exists.
This is the same, if I use the flash drive with partitions created by wintousb or the external SSD.
So, any advice what I can do to come out of this?
THANKS!!!! best wishes....

Digital Signature Error

I just bought a license and I'm using the latest version of Win2USB. I tried to make a WinToGo VHDX ( Bios & UEFI boot ) from a Windows 8.1 installation ISO on a SanDisk Extreme 500 Portable SSD ( It's a huge flash drive, not a regular harddrive. )

Everything says it went fine, but when I reboot I get a bluescreen telling me "Your PC needs to be repaired. The operating system couldn't be loaded because the digital signature of a file couldn't be verified. File: \Windows\System32\drivers\WinToUSBDisk.sys Error code: 0xc0000428"

Windows 10 Asks For Login Password After Clean Install?

Hi

Using a friends laptop, I tried to create a bootable Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit USB drive.

Installation went ahead as usual, but after booting from the drive, and going through some of the normal setup stuff, Windows asked for a login password. There was already a user account. At no point did I set such a password. What causes this, and how can I get around it?

It should be noted that the laptop itself already had that that exact same version of Windows 10, installed internally. But there was no password set on the internal installation.

I also tried to boot a WinToUSB disk I had previously created on another computer, one with Windows 8 on it, and that one booted perfectly here.

Has anybody seen this problem before? Does anybody know how to get around it?

Can't install Windows 8.1 on WinToUSB

I've been using many different ISO's and different versions of WinToUSB but I can't seem to get it to work, either I cant boot into it or when I do boot into it I just get an error. I'm trying to get Windows 8.1 on my 32GB USB. I'm not sure if its because of the ISO or if its because the USB. If you can please tell me where I can get a ISO of Windows 8.1 or Windows 8 compatible with the latest version of WinToUSB that would be great. Or if you could tell me what to do step by step.
